This last quarter we welcomed two new Full Members:
Paul & Jenny Bayard – Salette British White Stud.
Paul & Jenny are retired beef and dairy farmers, who also ran sheep and goats. They have downsized to smaller acreage but missed having cattle. So, after looking around for heritage, quiet, attractive cattle, settled on British Whites. They were initially only interested in a commercial herd but reconsidered given the rarity of the breed believing it a shame for the stud animals to be “lost” to the breed and Society. They are also hoping to entice their grandchildren into the breed and see them as the beneficiaries of their small herd.
Hannah Molyneux – Billengin Stud
While technically not a new membership Hannah has taken over the Billengin stud of the late Lyn Keyworth who was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident in 2023. Lyn’s family wish to retain and grow her British White herd as a legacy to her and have asked Hannah to take over the herd. The cattle will remain at the Keyworth property under the same.
Hannah brings loads of youthful enthusiasm and a passion for heritage breeds and the importance of genetic diversity and food sovereignty.
